The Birds are Working!
Well, it's Spring! The season has come a little later this year, but it's beginning, at least in the mind of this guide, is marked by the migration of juvenile shrimp out of the westside bays, which triggers the frenzied podding of the redfish, which triggers the frenzied feeding of the laughing gulls. the clients struggled with the conditions on the day of these photos were taken, and we caught a number of species besides redfish. including a laughing gull! But, as you can see, there were redfish to be hooked on the fly as well...Capt. Randy

The Sand is Red Hot!
Well, it's springtime, and all the craziness of fishing for pods of redfish under laughing gulls has been hot and heavy in the last two weeks. But, today I take a brief moment to let you all know that the eastside sand has also been red hot! With the sun high the redfish can be seen roaming around on the white sand as though we are poling the skiff along in a 10 inch deep aquarium! Congratulations Nelson on a fine cast! Capt. Randy
